Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says the Federal Government is planning to have him indicted and silence him from expressing his concerns about the state of the nation.

According to a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Friday, the plot against the former President followed the statement he issued in January blasting the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Obasanjo who supported Buhari as he swept to power in 2015 has since them criticised the President’s performance in office and advised him against seeking re-election.

The shenaniganic expression of President Muhammadu Buhari of the Fulani/Arabic/Islamic Republic of Nigeria during his investiture as a Grand Patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), at the Presidential villa in Abuja recently is definitely not our concern, but the fact that he recognizes the existence of the nation of Biafra and addressed her as such.

We fully understand the gimmicks being employed to purposely undermine the genocide that was  committed against the Biafran people in which over 3.5 million were gruesomely massacred during the war of 1967 to 1970. In his jaundiced and laborious defense of the events of that atrocious era, he exonerated the Nigerian army any blame which he was criminally part of, as being soft on Biafrans. The Nigerian army aided by a contingent of foreign allies led by Britain and made easy through a draconian policy draft by Awolowo, prevented the Red Cross amongst other foreign aide organisations from making necessary supplies of relief materials to the entrapped and impoverished Biafrans. This act in itself, precipitated the death of additional number of Biafrans including women and children due to starvation. This is the "softness" Buhari shamelessly made reference to when he implied that the Nigerian army was soft on Biafrans during the war. Reports of the events of that time, confirm that over one million Biafran citizens were consciously starved to death through the instrumentality of blockades by the Nigerian military government led by the arch-genocidist, Yakubu Gowon and his ruling band of vampires. This dastardly act of genocide has remained a non-discussable issue till date even before the global community.

Recently, former Military Head of State cum Civilian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, a co-genocidist, threatened to expose President Muhammadu Buhari's atrocities committed against Biafrans during the civil war if he went ahead to drag his name in the mud through jaundiced and vindictive probe against his tenure. It was on this premise that Buhari, feeling guilty of his crimes, delved into such an unguided, callous, insincere and bizarre statement unbecoming of a democratically tutored President.

The position of the entire Biafran populace remains that Nigeria as a country will continue to stutter from one calamitous visitation to the other until Biafrans regain their total freedom and allowed to exit the evil contraption. The spirits of those brutally murdered through tortures, bullets, bombs and varying degrees of starvation, will continue to hunt and hound the perpetrators/accomplices of these heinous crimes against the Biafran people, until they disappear from the surface of this planet. Most assuredly, nemesis must take it's rightful cause.

The Igbo living in Taraba State have ran to the Igbo apex organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the South-East governors to save them from the attacks from Hausa-Fulani.
They have also called on the duo to urge Governor Dairus Ishiaku of Taraba State to ensure the security of lives and property of Igbo in his state.

The people who through one of their leaders, the Eze Igbo Dan-Anacha, Gassol local government, Taraba state, Chief Ozor Joseph Ezeh, had addressed Ohaneze on the their ordeal in Taraba state alleged periodic attack on them by the Fulani.
According to the Igbos in Taraba, all the attacks on them have been unprovoked, and led to looting of the property and in most cases burning down of their shops, in presence of security operatives without and caution or arrest, just as the state government has allegedly remained unconcerned about their plight.
Narrating their ordeal he said, “On Sunday being 3rd of June, 2018, the Fulanis went to Dinya community and attacked the people there who are Tivs but during a gun battle that ensured, the Tivs had upper hands and they retrieved.
“On Monday they entered another community, Dan-Anicha and regrouped and teamed up with the Hausas there and started rioting around 6am till about 5pm when the situation became uncontrollable.
“At this point they began to break into shops owned by Igbo indigenes and were carting away their goods.
“What surprised everyone was that the SARS people came fully armed, the mobile and conventional police came there fully armed and the army also came fully armed but they did not make any attempt to stop these people from looting the property of the Igbo.
“They just parked themselves one side and were watching these attackers braking into the shops and looting our people’s property without making arrest. The worse is that these people carried these property they were looting and crossing before them and the security operatives did nothing but were just there as if they came to give them coverage to carry out the looting operation.
“All the shops inside Dan-Anicha park belonging to Igbo indigenes were looted and majority of the shops burnt and along Bornu Kurukuru road all the shops belonging to Igbo indigenes there were looted and the shops burnt and the security operatives were all around watching them do all that without taking any action.
“This attack on Ndigbo there started by 6am on Monday and ended 6:00a.m., on Tuesday, without any interruption by the security operatives who were present.
“This is not the first time this kind of thing is happening, on October 13, 2001 they carried similar attack on Igbo and on November 20, 2017, the same Fulani people had problem with Tiv people and they (Fulani and Hausa) pounced on the shops of Igbo people and looted them without any interruption by the security operatives.
“On that day they attacked me physically, gave me machete cuts and turned my house upside-down and burnt down all my shops and ruined my business.
“We have come to make this report officially to Ohaneze Ndigbo and the South-East Governors because the Taraba State government has continued to ignore our reports and petitions to it as it has not made any effort to stop these attackers or arrest any of them.
“It has not also made any effort at consoling the Igbos or gives them relief for their means of livelihood that were taken away forcefully from them.”
Ezeh said the development has made them to ask some questions as to the hope of the Igbos in the state and whether the Governor does not consider them as Nigerians.
“Our question is, is Igbo not part of Nigeria that the Governor of Taraba state both old and present refused to do anything concerning what the Fulani and Hausa people are doing to Ndigbo in the state?
“We are asking Taraba State Governor, Dairus Ishiaku, what is the hope of Igbos in your state? We are pleading to him to consider the plight of the families that their shops were looted and burnt and render assistance to them so that they can start life again if indeed we are one Nigeria.
“We want the Ohaneze Ndigbo to intervene and reach the Governor Ishiaku and ask him if he does not want Igbos in his state?”

AMNESTY International (AI) says it will not be deterred by the increasing threats, intimidation and smear campaigns by the Nigerian Army, aimed at discrediting the group’s activities.

According to Osai Ojigho, AI’s Country Director in Nigeria, instead of investigating reports of human rights violations by its personnel, the Nigerian Military would rather resort to issuing threats and sponsoring protests against the group.

Citing an example with the recent report published by AI, which documented incidences of sexual abuses by soldiers on women and girls in displaced persons’ camps across the country, Ojigho said security authorities were contacted while the report was being compiled, but they refused to comment.

“Amnesty International always shares the findings of its investigations with the Nigerian military before publication,” Ojigho said.

“We ask detailed questions to ensure the military can provide its side of the story, but in all cases the military has either completely ignored these attempts to engage, or referred us to other arms of government, in a clear attempt to evade our questions.”

However, when the report was eventually published on 24 May 2018, “rather than taking action to address the issues raised … the Nigerian military has fallen back on its usual hostile tactics of denials and threats,” Ojigho said in a statement on Thursday.

Ojigho also recalled that in March 2017, sponsored protesters carrying a coffin invaded Amnesty International’s office in Abuja chanting slogans against the organization like “Amnesty International supports Boko Haram,” and “You are demonic, leave Nigeria now.

“The protesters, some of whom were internally displaced persons from camps outside Abuja, said they were paid N1400 every day by agents of the sponsors of the protest, who they met at Unity Fountain, Abuja.

Kanayo O. Kanayo says he will run for a seat in the house of representatives in 2019.

The actor declared his intention on Wednesday after President Muhammadu Buhari declared June 12 Democracy Day and conferred the title of GCFR on the late MKO Abiola.

“History has been made today,” the ‘Living in Bondage’ actor said.

Kanayo, real name Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, seeks to represent Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise federal constituency, Imo state, at the house of representatives.

The actor is a member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

He added: “History has been made today as I declared my intention to run for the House of Representatives, Ahiazu/ Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency, Imo State under the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
