KEN SARO WIWA, ADAKA BORO, AND OBI WALI
Most people in the world don’t have an idea about the secret war going on in Nigeria. They don’t know what kind of pressures and harassment people face when they try to speak out and tell the truth about the British and Hausa-Fulani conspiracy to muzzle and cage Biafrans. The truth about such a matter costs lives as can be seen in the case of human right fighters like Ken Saro-Wiwa, the human right activist/environmentalist/novelist and nine others, who were killed by hanging, in a Port Harcourt prison in October, 1995, and the massacre of the entire Ogoni community in Rivers State by Hausa-Fulani’s, because they spoke the truth to redeem their people who were engulfed by crude oil pollution. According to United Nations Environmental Programme's (UNEP's) assessment of Ogoni land, UNEP's finding released earlier, in 2013, showed hydrocarbon pollution in surface water in the creeks of Ogoni-land, and up to eight centimeters in groundwater supplying drinking wells.
Soil were found to have been polluted with hydrocarbons of up to five meters depth in 49 observed sites; benzene, a known cancer-causing chemical, was found in drinking water at a level 900 times above the World Health Organization (WHO) acceptable levels.
Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) Executive Director Godwin Ojo said: “The issues in the UNEP report are about the devastation of the ecosystems, water bodies, livelihoods, and how Shell Petroleum and Development Company (SPDC) oil extraction activities have impoverished the Ogonis, and sentencing them to slow deaths. The bodies insisted on the immediate setting up of a $100 billion Niger Delta Restoration Fund for the clean-up of the Niger Delta impacted by oil activities. The cleanup exercise has been abandoned since the past 18 years after the gruesome murder of Ken Saro-Wiwa and the Ogoni nine.
Adaka Boro, the Bayelsa born freedom fighter was set up and killed in a cold blood in May, 1968 at Ogu, Okrika in Rivers State.
Dr. Obi Wali, the Ikwerre spokesman was murdered, butchered, and dismembered in his bedroom on 26April, 1993; at about 8pm because he demanded for fairness over the oil exploitation in Rivers State. Parts of his body were found littered in the room in thick pool of cold blood. Those who killed him cut him limb by limb until no part of his body had any semblance of life. Senator Obi Wali died a death that was so painful, inhuman shameful and disrespectful.
These are some of the people who are directly involved in it but didn’t even have the presence of mind to fit the pieces together - the threats, the intimidations, the burglaries, the surveillances, the smear, campaigns, and false arrests and so on; soldiers attack innocent civilians and many citizens end up mysteriously dead; Journalists get eliminated with parcel bombs; that is the reason the Nigerian journalist paint their reports to please President Mohammadu Buhari; they even report lies against Mr. Nnamdi Kanu who stick his neck to liberate them, they do this out of fear, despite the fact that Ex-President Jonathan signed the Freedom of Information Bill in 2011 because the north sat on it since 1914. And now, here is a clear evidence of an innocent man being kidnapped by the President of Nigeria.
The spirit of Ken Saro Wiwa, Isaac Adaka aBoro and Obi Wali is with Nnamdi Kanu to restore our freedon.
